VR are the Future

Project Overview
“VR are the Future” is an Erasmus+ cooperation partnership uniting four organisations from Lithuania, Latvia, Croatia and Cyprus to modernise youth work through immersive media. Over 24 months (October 2023–September 2025), the project integrates Virtual Reality (VR) and 360° video into non-formal learning, equipping youth workers with both the technical skills and the pedagogical know-how to design, deliver and evaluate immersive experiences that boost engagement, empathy and civic participation among young people.

Methodology

  • Work Package 1 (Management): Coordinates the partnership, monitoring progress and ensuring quality.

  • Work Package 2 (Guidebook): Produces a step-by-step digital-pedagogy manual covering tool selection, scenario planning and inclusive design.

  • Work Package 3 (Scenarios): Creates, pilots and refines six immersive experiences—ranging from empathy simulations to environmental missions—using no-code platforms, with an optional advanced Unity track.

  • Work Package 4 (Promotion): Implements dissemination events, social-media campaigns and a dedicated project website/LMS to maximize uptake across all partner regions and beyond.

Consortium & Roles

  • Klaipėda City Municipality (LT): Lead coordinator and civic-engagement expert.

  • YOU+ (LV): Promotion lead, connecting with youth networks and organising multiplier events.

  • Sirius (HR): Pedagogical design and pilot testing of scenarios.

  • SCP Serv (CY): Technical development, Unity integration, and LMS setup.

Expected Impact
Youth workers will return to their organisations confident in producing immersive content and running safe, impactful VR/360° sessions. Young participants will gain deeper understanding of civic processes, stronger empathy for peers, and practical skills for real-world problem-solving. In the long term, “VR are the Future” lays the groundwork for mainstreaming immersive media across European youth-work practice, fostering digital innovation, inclusion and participatory democracy long after the project’s formal end.
